COVID-19 Update June 3, 2020

Our office is preparing to open in the coming weeks now that the guidelines for phase 2 have been released.  Protocols are being finalized, alterations are being made to the office and staff are being trained to meet the new guidelines.  Due to the lack of PPE, we are still only equipped to see emergencies and urgent care situations.  We are doing our best to get back to a new normal as soon as possible but we are at the mercy of our suppliers so please be patient with us during this transition.  We will be calling to reschedule cancelled appointments as soon as we are able to safely.  

Here is what you can expect when we start to reschedule appointments: 

1. You will be screened for COVID symptoms both on the phone and once in the office.
2. We will be calling to review your medical history by phone ahead of your appointment date.
3. Please arrive AT the time of your appointment as directed.
4. We ask that all patients bring and wear a mask to the office and when in the office.
5. You will be asked to hand sanitize upon arrival and when leaving the office.
6. Please come unaccompanied to your appointment.  If you require accompaniment, please contact us for directions.

IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC 

***PLEASE NOTE THAT EFFECTIVE MARCH 15, 2020, THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF DENTAL SURGEONS OF ONTARIO strongly recommends that all non-essential and elective dental services should be suspended immediately. Emergency treatment should continue. 

Our office will, therefore, be open only for limited service and emergency services only, affecting our usual hours of operation until further notice***

All patients must call in first before coming to the office. It is required that we review what their emergency is, what their health status is and then decide the appropriate action.

Our college wants us to have limited aerosol production and that means that procedures using high-speed drills are frowned upon unless absolutely necessary. And if we do use a high speed, then we must be in a gown, face shield, N95 mask and gloves.
